About our East Texas Adirondack Furniture!We took the classic Adirondack chair, used sweeping lines and subtle curves to design a sturdy wooden frame that is as pleasing to the eye as it is functional. Next we borrowed seats and backs from the ubiquitous painted metal lawn chair so popular on lawns and porches here in our native home of East Texas. We then combined the two forms together and created a truly unique outdoor chair that is both eclectic and stylish while at the same time very comfortable and dubbed it the “East Texas – Adirondack”. Our distinctive East Texas Adirondack Chair, East Texas Adirondack Rocker and East Texas Adirondack Tête-à-tête are our own unique creations. To accent our East Texas Adirondack Chair we offer an East Texas Adirondack Side Table.In designing our chair we soon learned that many traditional Adirondack chairs are too often constructed with a deep and severe slope to the seat and back. Sitting in and arising from one of these chairs can be quite ungraceful if not down right difficult! Our design implies the classic angle of the standard Adirondack seat and back but positions the user to sit much more naturally. The height and inclination of our chair makes it very easy to enter and exit while providing the all important simple comfort demanded from a casual lawn chair. The slightly broad and sweeping arms of our chair provide a pleasing base for ones arms to rest upon while allowing ample room for a drink glass, snack plate or favorite novel to remain until wanted without fear of being tipped over. We hope you will agree that our “East Texas – Adirondack” is very beautiful, comfortable and functional outdoor furniture!Our chair frames are constructed of selected air dried cypress lumber milled to a final thickness of 1-1/16”. This thickness allows us to add improved strength to the frame providing years of uninterrupted service while refraining to appear cumbersome. All edges are rounded over and shaped for a smooth finished feel and appearance. Cypress lumber has been called “wood eternal” because it is born and lives partly in water and on land making it a perfect outdoor furniture wood. It is soft to the touch, weathers quite gracefully and can be left out of doors for years with little if any ill effects even if left unfinished or treated. Cypress paints up wonderfully if one so chooses and accepts oil stains and finishes equally wellThe backs and seats of the “East Texas –Adirondack” come from new all metal lawn chairs and have a powder coated finish. This finish will provide years of quality service with very light maintenance. Our fastener system is rust resistant and utilizes an industrial square drive head for positive slip free tightening during assembly. We even provide the special square drive screwdriver for your convenience!We offer our “East Texas – Adirondack” furniture cypress protected with marine oil treatment. This special marine oil provides ultra violet protection to the wood while accenting its wonderful grain pattern and gives the lumber a pleasing rich light brown color with a satin sheen. Reapplication of this oil treatment is very easy and may be required every couple of years. |
